Policy and Commissioning Officer

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) for Avon and Somerset is looking to recruit a Policy and Commissioning Officer to work with us on the wide ranging activity undertaken by the Policy, Partnerships and Commissioning Directorate of the OPCC. The role is based in Portishead, near Bristol, with hybrid working. 

Reporting to a Senior Policy and Commissioning Manager, this is a key role within the Directorate, working across our portfolios to deliver the PCC's Police and Crime Plan. Whilst the main focus will be supporting the team's commissioning of services to support victims of crime and ASB, you will also have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues on services and priorities as diverse as Reducing Reoffending, scrutiny of the Criminal Justice system and other emerging priorities for the team. 

The core responsibilities of this interesting and varied role are: 

• Provide coordination support for the Policy, Partnerships and Commissioning Team, including development and regular updating of project plan(s) as required. 

• Support the effective and efficient oversight of a range of grants and contracts across the directorate. 

• Organise meetings and events with both internal staff and partners. 

• Undertake research to facilitate the work of the Policy, Partnerships and Commissioning Team.  

• Support the analysis and scrutiny of performance information from service providers, including the Constabulary where appropriate. 

• Represent the Policy, Partnerships and Commissioning Team at a range of internal and external meetings. Liaise and correspond with a range of stakeholders.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent 

Salary: £29,109 – £35,526 (spinal points 18-25) depending on experience 

Schedule: Flexible working will be considered
